Vice President

Sara Coakley

As Vice President of the Ohio Farmer Veteran Coalition, Sara Coakley brings passion and innovation to our mission of supporting veterans in agriculture. Raised on a small farm in Ohio, Sara’s love for agriculture began early and carried through her service as a U.S. Army Sergeant and Medical Laboratory Specialist. Following her military career, she transitioned to microbiology, where she further honed her skills before embracing her passion for farming full-time. Today, Sara and her family operate Buckeye Shroomery, a thriving gourmet mushroom farm that reflects her commitment to sustainable and community-driven agriculture.

Sara’s journey, from serving her country to building her agricultural dream, reflects the spirit of perseverance and growth that we strive to nurture in every veteran we support. Her leadership is a testament to the incredible potential of veterans in agriculture. Join us in partnering with Sara and the Ohio FVC to continue fostering opportunity and connection for Ohio’s veteran farming families.
